| Slice HowTo (Linux) |
|
In this Tutorial we show you, how you instal ZeroC ICE, in connection with Mumble/Murmur also Slice called, on a Linux server. Moreover, we show you how you instal the necessary PHP extension for ZeroC ICE, so that you can use the Mumb1e Admin Plugin in the full functions. You start with the installation of both packages in the Shell. For it you give the following orders and follow the requests of the Shell: apt-get install zeroc-ice apt-get install php-zeroc-ice Should these requests not work, check please the available packages on your system: aptitude search zeroc Instal then the available packages. After successful installation, your server should already communicate now of the Murmur with the Slice interface successfully. You can test this, while you work on murmur.ini accordingly (suitable line comment out) and start afterwards the server. Now you should find in the file murmur.log a suitable entry. Now, your web server is not configured yet enough, as that the Mumb1e Admin Plugin can already communicate with the Murmur server. Now, you must edit some settings. Now you have to check out, where is the path to your PHP Extensions. Move please in the Shell in the following path: cd /usr/lib/php5/ Now in this path you can find different variations. On the one hand, the path "extensions" is possible. However, mostly you find this other path as for example "20060613+lfs". After you have checked this, note the joined path please on a note slip of paper, or notice to your mind the value which can look as follows: /usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/ After you know the path, in that the PHP Extensions are available, we have to tell PHP this now. In addition we go in php.ini which start with of the web server is charged and for the fact is responsible that PHP with Slice can start something. We go to the following path: cd /etc/php5/apache2/ In this path you find the required php.ini. Now we open the file in the Shell with the following order: vim php.ini Now the file indicates the Shell. Now we move to the file end with the key "picture down". At the end of the file concerned we go to the input mode with "a". Now we place the following entry: extension_dir = /usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/ This entry can be different of course as on top described. We finish the input mode with "ESC" and also finish the file display while enter the following: ":wq" + "ENTER" Now we have changed successfully php.ini. Now we must still change the configuration file of Slice. For it we proceed in the following path, which is quite close php.ini, by the way. Still we give here the complete path: cd /etc/php5/conf.d/ In this path you find the file "IcePHP.ini". Now we must also open this: vim IcePHP.ini In this file you do not find many entries. However, at least the following 2 lines should exist. In the first line you find the allocation, to the file, the Slice charges around with PHP to be able to handle. This file lies in the list that we have declared before in php.ini and mostly is called as follows: IcePHP.so However, there are the cases in which this file from the syntax looks different. This must be checked compelling and and be considered with the following input. Now we are in the file "IcePHP.ini" and now declare the first line of the file as follows: extension=IcePHP.so Now we declare the second line. In this is declared where the file are which informs the extension PHP Slice as this communicates with our Murmur server. Speak what it for available orders gives. In this file we declare where our Murmur Static server is. We give not only the path to the server, but also the file "Murmur.ice". Besides, as well as in the above examples is always to be respected to it, that Linux is "Case sensitive", it pays attention so to Largely and use of small letters. We declare as the second line now: ice.slice = /Verzeichnis/zu/meinem/Murmur/Server/Murmur.ice We close now the file. In addition we enter first to finish "ESC" one around the input mode and store away the file, while we enter ":wq" + "ENTER". Now our web server is configured. If you have made now everything right, now you have only to restart the server: /etc/init.d/apache2 restart ... and Slice completely work and the Mumb1e Admin Plugin with the Murmur servers successfully communicate. Should you have problems, turn please to our LiveSupport on Mumb1e.de. We help you of course. |
